An informative and inspirational seminar for beginners with an interest in tracking and seasoned veterans looking for some tips. Tracking requires some of the most complex interactions and communication between dog and handler. This sport is ideal for WSS because they are both independent thinkers and eager to work with and please their handler. Hans and Franna will demonstrate a short track and the seminar will include:
- Starting in Tracking, what you need (equipment, places to practice, time!)
- The AKC tracking tests – TD, TDX, TDU, VST – and what they entail.
- Training techniques (how to deal with all the moving parts) and books that are good resources.
- What can go wrong in training and in tests . . . or “what not to do ’cause it will get you into trouble”
- Q&A

Calling all hunters, trackers, track layers, judges, observers and anyone that would like to join us. We will have an informal dinner together Wednesday night at Milford Hills Hunt Club following the Hunt Test to celebrate the kick-off of the 2019 WSSCA National Specialty. More information here.
